about

The title translates to ‘’Rebel Heroes’’.
I noticed in the last years that all my heroes are what the settler’s narrative call anti-heroes or terrorists: Cochise, Sub Comandante Marcos, Masoud, Lumumba, Leonard Peltier, Cuauhtémoc, etc. My heroes are not poster boys and girls, they are rebels, they fight the power and so should we. This song is about decolonizing our minds and understanding that the idea of ‘’BIPOC’’ people is, by design, to keep us in constant hyper vigilance, presenting us as criminals, othering us on our own land.

lyrics

héroes rebeldes

(Intro)
Liberen los héroes
Rebeldes, yé ah

(Verso 1)

(Coro)
Todos mis héroes son rebeldes
A mí no me gustan reglas ni leyes

(Bridge)
Quiero que te liberes
Que se liberen las mentes

(Verso 2)

No, no, no, no
Ya veo clara tu mentira, nítida
No, no, no, no

(Coro)

(Verso 3)
Niño sentí que algo estaba mal
Mentiras en la historia oficial
Esa moral me parecía inmoral
Y me decían: ‘’¡Todo normal!’’

Perdí la fe estudiando la invasión
De mis Américas queridas mi región
La doctrina del descubrimiento
Y otras mentiras del vaticano

Poderes, reyes
Leyes, dictadores
Jueces obedientes
Y jefes cobardes

En mis juegos nunca fui vaquero
Con mi arco de juguete guerrillero
Imaginando liberar a mi pueblo
Aún nos falta acabar con el tirano

(Coro)

(Bridge)

FR

(Intro)
Libérez les héros
Rebelles, yé ah

(Verset 1)

(Refrain)

(Refrain)

(Verset 3)
Enfant j’ai senti que quelque chose était mal
Des mensonges dans l’histoire officielle
Cette morale me paraissait immorale

(Refrain)

(Pont)

ENG

(Intro)
Free the rebel
Heroes, yé ah

(Verse 1)
As a kid, I didn’t like the teacher
He spoke all the time like Fidel Castro
Too much dogma like a Holy Father
Or what they say about my ancestors

I was born in a free body
On a planet where life is a comodity
And everything is for sale, even your subconscious
Hey, produce and run after fortune

I was never interested or impressed
By privileged people who like colonialism
My heroes are unpopular
Courageous, fighting for a better future

(Chorus)
All my heroes are rebels
I don’t like rules or laws

(Bridge)
I want you to free yourself
I want the minds to free themselves

(Verse 2)
They told me that columbus was a Saint
That my jungle people where almost monkeys
That God is white and has a beard
That the woman opened up the box and she’s guilty

No, no, no, no
Now I clearly see your lies, neat
No, no, no, no
Even if they hide it, truth is alive

I identify with what is marginal and alternative
Raw, original and native
The damn power in place is not my friend
And if you break the law do it with style

(Chorus)

(Verse 3)
Kid, I felt that something was wrong
Lies all over the official History
That moral seemed immoral to me
And they said that everything was normal

I lost faith studying the invasion
Of my beloved Americas, my region
The doctrine of discovery
And other lies of the vatican

Powers, royalty
Laws, dictators
Obedient judges
And coward bosses

In my games, I was never the cowboy
With my bow toy, guerrillero
Imagining myself liberating my peoples
We still have to overthrow the tyrant

(Chorus)

(Bridge)
